To our JPMS Members:

Thank you for your participation in Jefferson and Orleans Parish Medical Societies. We appreciate your membership and are excited to announce that JPMS and OPMS have taken another important step toward providing increased value to you, our members, by sharing resources and solidifying our collaboration to best serve physicians, medical students, your patients and our communities.

On June 19, 2019, the leadership of JPMS and OPMS met to consider several models of further integration and collaboration. Overwhelmingly, board members voted to pursue development of a new organization which will serve as the singular voice for physicians and medical students.

This new professional association will assume most of the activities and initiatives of JPMS and OPMS to enhance service to physicians and will address public health concerns throughout the Southeast Louisiana region. JPMS and OPMS will continue our strong advocacy and voice at the state level through communications efforts and effective representation of physician interests through Louisiana State Medical Society.

We are excited to move forward together in this new era of collaboration between our two organizations. This new professional association ensures our ability to serve physicians, medical students and your patients more effectively in the future.
